Pet Portraits

Give the gift of art that celebrates the ones who love us most. A portrait makes a truly meaningful gift—something to treasure for years to come. Each custom pet portrait is hand-painted in soft pastel on high quality archival pastel paper, capturing the heart and personality of your beloved companion. I am only able to accept a limited number of commissions before the holidays, so early requests are encouraged.

Commission a Pet Portrait

To request a commissioned pet portrait, please contact me with your preferred size (8”x10”, 11”x14”, or 12”x16”) and several clear, detailed photos of your pet. I will respond with a commission agreement and will follow up with an invoice if you would like for me to proceed.

Payment & Timeline

Once an agreement is made, a 50% deposit is required before I begin painting your portrait, and the final 50% will be due before delivery/pickup or shipping your portrait to you. Once the agreement is signed and your deposit is received, please allow 1-2 weeks for me to complete the portrait. You will receive a preview image before I apply finishing touches. At that point, minor adjustments can be made if you like. Preparation and shipping takes approximately 5-7 days.

Pricing

Pricing below is for a single pet with simple background. Pricing will be adjusted based on the complexity of the subject and the number of pets (maximum of 2 pets in one portrait). Portraits are painted with soft pastels on thick archival fine art pastel paper and are sold UNFRAMED.

8”x10” — $160

11”x14” — $285

12”x16” — $345

Handling and Framing Your Artwork

Pastels are made of pure pigment and won’t fade, crack, or yellow like other mediums, so pastel artwork will last indefinitely when cared for properly. However, unlike oil or acrylic paint that dries and can be touched afterward, pastels are a dry medium that will smear or smudge when touched. It is important to handle your pastel artwork carefully and frame it behind glass. Either spacers or matting must be used to separate the artwork from the glass when framing. If you choose to have it professionally framed, I recommend making it clear to your framer that you do NOT want fixative applied to your artwork when framing to prevent any alteration of color. I can give you suggestions for framing that are very cost efficient if you like. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have.
